Homecare places the professionalism of its staff high on its agenda and ensures that new employees and existing staff are well provided for and that their development exceeds all requirements and is in line with client's needs.

Homecare has in place a number of initiatives to support people development within the company. These include:

Apprenticeships NI Level 2

Apprenticeships NIApprenticeshipsNI is a Northern Ireland Government funded, work-based training programme, designed by Sector Skills Councils (SSCs)/Standard Setting Bodies (SSBs).

ApprenticeshipNI Level 2 is designed for those currently employed within a Health & Social Care environment. Apprentices will be required to attend day release class (conducted either within Rutledge or at Homecare's workplace) as agreed with Homecare.

Apprentices will complete Employment Right and Responsibilities set by the Sector Skills Council for Health & Social Care. They will also complete a Level 2 Technical Certificate on-line in Health & Social Care and a Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Health & Social Care. Throughout the course apprentices will be assessed using a range methods including product evidence, workplace observations, written reports, assignments and examinations. All apprentices undertaking the ApprenticeshipNI programme must complete Essential Skills Numeracy and Literacy at the appropriate level unless they can provide exemptions.
